July is a month for graduations here in Durango. Nico and Flor graduated from Junior High. That is a great step, a great joy and we are so thankful to God for having helped these two young girls achieve this. August is here and we go back to school in a few days. Last year I finished the school year with ten young ladies, and like every year, I do not know how many of them will return. However, I am ready to receive them. A new school year brings new challenges and sometimes it is in the form of new girls. Nevertheless, I know that everything is directed by the hand of the Lord and that gives me peace.

Last year in the spring, a group from the local YWAM ministry built us a small house. Although small in size, it is a great blessing for us. Next to the house was a half built building that required a great deal of remodeling. This was necessary to enable all of us to move since the house does not have the space we need. In the remodeled building we have built additional bathrooms, an activity room for homework and school projects and a small office. We are in the last details. They’re only details but those details cost us financially and we have not been able to finish due to lack of resources. We are hoping and believing that in a month or so we will be able to move to our own house, our own land and that encourages me a lot. I am looking forward to that day. I will be able to share photos with you soon!

For the past few months I have been struggling with my sciatic nerve. It has been a very painful experience. I have never lived through anything like this before. It is a constant pain that has caused me to stop my daily activities and what I do during my down time is meditate
on the Lord's promises for my life. He has always been faithful to me. My son Jerry, and his wife Rachel have been a big help to me. They have taken me to doctor appointments and help me with anything I may need around the house concerning the girls, giving them a ride to church, bringing me groceries from town, or just coming to pray and to visit in order to lift my spirits. I was able to travel to San Antonio, TX to visit my daughter, Michelle, her husband, Eddie and my two precious, granddaughters, Sarah and Abigail. They have been a source of comfort and rest for me at this time, and I was glad to have been able to make this trip. I am feeling better, however, I ask for your prayers for my complete healing so that I may return to my normal activities and routine.
Continue to lift us up in prayer. God continues to open ways for us to reach the indigenous tribes in Durango, Mexico. In the end, I want to be able to serve him with all that I am. Thank you for your financial support and your constant prayers. If it were not for your generosity and response to the voice of God, we would not be able to make a difference in these young girls’ lives. Thank you!
