Adela Flores, the youngest of the girls, is 14 years old and is in 8th grade. She recently won an award for having the best GPA in in her group level (which are three groups in total). For her, it was an award for her hard work. She is very dedicated to her schoolwork and it was a motive of joy and pride for us. Her teachers praised her efforts in front of her classmates, saying she was a young lady who had many obstacles and limitations in education and language, who still achieves excellence in her studies. This only assures me that we are doing something right and that God is helping us!
On Saturdays and Sundays, I have the opportunity to have conversations with the girls. With most of the homework out of the way, we have “after meal” conversations. They also accompany me to town for groceries, and the times to and from church are moments that we take advantage of to speak about them, their community, problems at home, and school. We also talk about moral issues and they ask me a lot of questions about church and God.
I take this as an excellent opportunity to share with them about Christ and God’s plans for their life. They trust me very much and I take advantage of this to introduce the Truth so that they may receive it with an open heart.
I continue to ask for your prayers and support. I am grateful for your faithfulness to these girls and God!
