God surprises me in many ways. This time, it was totally unexpected. Last year, I was able to buy the land I needed where I could build a house and serve all the students coming from the mountains. At the 2017 Missions Conference at Destiny Church in San Antonio, TX., a wonderful family surprised us. They committed themselves to building the house for the girls! What an enormous blessing. I went back to Durango rejoicing in the goodness of God. Only a few weeks had passed and in mid March the directors of the YWAM Durango base asked to meet with me to talk about a donation of a second house in our newly purchased land. I didn’t understand at first but they explained that the house was intended for a low-income family here in Durango as part of one of their ministry projects. It seems that there were unforeseen circumstances that inhibited them from being able to move forward with the family they had planned to build for, but the Lord guided to build for our ministry with the girls! During holy week last April, they built a small 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house for us! I could hardly believe it!
God is so good, and now we have this little house. This house does not fulfill the conditions we need to live there permanently, yet, but it is OURS and for the moment we can move to the house into it and no longer pay rent! The house is finished, however, we are needing another $1,500 to add certain things to make it livable such as water, plumbing, electricity, phone lines, etc. As soon as this is done, we can move in and begin the transformation and development of what this ministry will offer to the young girls who come to study.
We are looking forward to the building of the bigger student house later this year. We are humbled and blessed to see God’s hand over us. Please continue to keep us in prayer. You are part of what God is doing here!
