September - October 2018

We have 9 girls! They have returned to school and with them all the activity that comes with it. We took out the uniforms, we prepared the materials for the school (each year they ask for a list of school supplies for each student), the schedules, etc. Each new school year is busy and there’s no dull moment. We had three girls leave last semester, however, three new ones arrived. Liliana is in Junior High and Margarita is a sophomore in high school.

Back in May, we had requested prayers for Elena so that she could recover her scholarship and thank the Lord, she did! She is enrolled in the School for Teachers, the same school where Adela attends. Elena was with us seven years before, but now she returns to be in the University. I thank God for giving us this opportunity to help her again. Personally, it is such a joy for me to see the development of the girls in their respective schools. They stand out academically and even in sports. The teachers come to congratulate me because they are witnesses to the girls’ dedication to their studies and receive recognition because of it.

We still have not been able to move to the new house. The community grant we need for the right to water has been problematic. The previous owner who sold us the property had a well and we would be able to use it, however, he has passed away. So, while the heirs fix the deeds, that right to water is pending. I hope we can soon resolve this issue. This house and property are a great blessing to us. We just have to be patient. We are looking forward to the time that we can move in!

I always thank God for all that you contribute so that this ministry can move forward, breaking vicious cycles, giving the girls an eternal hope through being exposed to the Gospel and changing one life at a time. Thank you very much to everyone!
